A dangerous curve in Beaufort County proved deadly Wednesday morning for two Washington High School students. The red Camaro went flying through the air and crashed into a tree, killing its driver 16-year-old Eli Saleeby Lee and his front seat passenger 15-year-old Noah Pikes. The back seat passenger, 19-year-old Jack Tennis, was conscious but flown by East Care to Pitt County Memorial Hospital. According to state troopers, the red Camaro's high speed around a tight corner led to the fatal accident. Troopers estimate the car was driving over 70 miles per hour around when it flew off Keysville Road in Washington.
