After last weekends wet weather canceled events across the East, tails were wagging in Pitt County, as the 5th Annual Canine Crawl got underway Saturday morning at Top Dog Academy.

The event sponsored by the Pitt County Humane Society brings together animal lovers to raise money that goes to support the society that's been up an running for more than 20 years. The Humane Society's mission... to protect animals from cruelty and abuse. The facility was built as a safe haven for homeless and neglected pets.

If you missed the crawl, you can make a donation by contacting the Pitt County Humane Society online.
