Rape Case Headed to the Jury

Monday may be the day for the end of the Doc Watson retrial in Beaufort County. Friday was day five of Watson's trial. He's charged with a rape last summer. The first case ended with a mistrial. Friday both the state and Watson's defense attorney rested their cases. The judge was concerned there wouldn't be enough time for the jury to hear closing arguments, be given instructions concerning the law and then start deliberations. All of that is now scheduled to begin Monday morning at 9:30.
