A busy day for area post offices as thousands turned up to mail their tax returns.
Folks at the Washington post office say they were a little busier than usual today, while those in New Bern didn't see a heavy increase. Both closed at their regular time, 5 p.m. That was also the case in Greenville, where all three offices closed at 5 p.m.
If you didn't make it to the post office in time, there is still hope. The Rocky Mount plant office at 201 South George Street will collect mail in both its inside and outside drop boxes through midnight. The mail must already have postage on it to be accepted.
