City of Greenville and Some Police Officers Face Multi-Million Dollar Lawsuit

The city of Greenville and some of its police officers face a multi-million dollar lawsuit. The father of Eugene Boseman, who died after a struggle with police in 2003, has filed a $15 million wrongful death lawsuit against the city and the officers involved. Boseman died after police removed him from a road while he was behaving erratically, and wearing boxer shorts and a T-shirt. The medical examiner ruled that obesity and heart disease contributed to the death, and that Boseman had used cocaine while stopping his antipsychotic medications. The State Bureau of Investigation cleared the officers and no charges were ever filed.
