It's been a trial full of surprises. Were there any Thursday on day four of the rape retrial of Doc Watson in Beaufort County? Watson is accused of raping a woman at Chocowinity Middle School last summer. The first case ended in a mistrial. It was the first normal day in court, no jurors tossed, no witnesses accused of perjury like the first two days. Today, Beaufort County Sheriff's department investigators testified about evidence collected at the reported crime scene. Experts with the State Bureau of Investigation testified about those findings, and began testimony concerning DNA evidence. The district attorney says the jury could get the case Friday.
