If you had to name the fastest growing county in the state what would you say? Wake, Mecklenberg? Well, you'd be dead wrong. The Census Bureau reports Camden County in the Northeast was the state's fastest growing county between 2003 and 2004 and was the eighth fastest growing county in the nation based on the percentage of people moving to the region. The county added 570 new residents for a total population of 8437 in 2004. Neighboring Currituck County added 1254 new residents, growing by six percent in the state's second-biggest jump.
