Day three of the Doc Watson rape retrial in Beaufort County saw more strange twists. It started off with the state's examination of Watson's girlfriend, Christy Boone. According to district attorney Seth Edwards, Boone was indicted on charges of perjury after Watson's first trial. The district attorney says Boone lied under oath while testifying on the whereabouts of Watson on the day of the crime. Boone gave similar testimony Wednesday, and the district attorney says, he may seek a third charge of perjury at the end of this trial. Tuesday a juror was tossed from the case and arrested on embezzlement charges.
