It looked like a war zone in southern Craven County, but officials say don't worry, it was planned.
Smoke billowing up into the clouds, a lot of it visible from most parts of the county. However, all it part of a U.S. Forestry Service controlled burn. The burn was massive at almost 1100 acres in the Croatan National Forest in near Havelock and James City. Officials say the burn started Sunday morning, and are unclear when its supposed to end.
