Doc Watson Going Back to Court

Video will be available shortly.

It's been nearly two years since two sexual assaults shocked the community of Beaufort County, and Monday the man accused those crimes from the summer of 2003 is headed back to court.

Jury selection in Doc Watson's re-trial is scheduled to begin Monday, April 11th. His previous trial surrounding a reported rape and robbery at Chocowinity Middle School, ended in a mistrial back in September. DNA evidence from a State Bureau of Investigation probe did not match Watson's in the September trial. 2 of 12 jury members found him innocent. At the time of the crimes, Watson lived in a nearby mobile home park.

While awaiting trial Watson and three other individuals were also accused of assaulting another inmate at the Beaufort County Jail.
