Shad Festival Almost Here

Shad is one of the most popular fish to catch in here in Eastern North Carolina. So much so, a full week of festivities is about to begin for the Annual Grifton Shad Festival. The theme for this year's Shad Festival is "Coming Home." Starting Sunday the festival kicks off more than 40 events that includes a parade, street dancing, and a shad tossing tournament, just to name a few. Publicity Coordinator Janet Haseley says it's an event you won't want to miss.

The Grifton Shad Festival is in it's 35th year and it's held right in the heart of Grifton.
