In the wake of the deadly school shooting in Minnesota, authorities here took every precaution when they heard that a student had a gun at Roanoke High School in Martin County Thursday. Police arrested 16-year-old Cornelius Tyrell Roberson who they say will be charged with bringing a gun onto the school grounds. Authorities say it doesn't look like Roberson was going to use the weapon to harm any students, and that it looked more like a show and tell type of incident. Authorities say the Colt 25 automatic handgun wasn't loaded when it was confiscated, but say Roberson had magazines and bullets for it in his possession. Deputies say another student took the gun and gave it to the principal. Roberson will be charged with a felony count of possession of a firearm on educational property, and has been suspended indefinitely from Roanoke High School. Deputies say more students could be arrested in this case.
