Emergency Medication at School Bill

North Carolina lawmakers recently passed a house bill that will now allow certain students to carry emergency medication while they're at school. The bill mandates that each school district come up with its own rules regarding students who must carry medicines like Epinephrine, or asthma inhalers. Barbara Turcotte, director of student services, says Pitt County Schools already allow students to carry emergency medicine as long as they have medical documentation that they need medication on campus. Turcotte says students who violate this procedure will be punished by the school system.
