The Grayson County Sheriff's Office has scheduled a news conference for this afternoon after a man questioned in the slayings of three people connected with a tree farm was taken into custody.
Authorities say Frederick Phillip Hammer of Crumpler has been identified as a person of interest in the case. He was taken into custody in Florida for a parole violation in North Carolina.
The sheriff's office isn't saying whether Hammer is considered a suspect in the case.
Law enforcement officials believe attempted robbery apparently led to the shooting deaths Thursday of Ronald F. Hudler; his son, Frederick D. Hudler; and tree farm employee John S. Miller. The killings took place on Ronald Hudler's property in Mouth of Wilson, near the North Carolina border.
