A bizarre moment in a Washington County courtroom Monday, as Plymouth's police chief resigns his position in light of charges that he destroyed evidence in a previous murder case. Former Police Chief John Floyd and his Captain Presley Ward faced a judge to see if they get to keep their jobs or be permanently removed from the Plymouth Police Department. But now that Floyd has officially resigned, the judge will now only hear Captain Ward's case. District Attorney Seth Edwards says as part of Floyd's agreement, Floyd also gave up all law enforcement certifications. Captain Ward's hearing continues Tuesday. The proceeding is expected to last most of the week.
