The second round of job cuts is now taking place at the Greensboro based nylon company Unifi Incorporated in Kinston. Company officials say over 200 employees will be laid off between now and the end of the month. This latest round comes as the company shuts down another product line in an effort to become profitable. Beverly Alston, manager of the Employment Security Commission in Lenoir County, says work is being done to help those workers find new employment elsewhere. Alston says some of the laid off workers have enrolled at Lenoir Community College to be trained in other career fields.
