Hundreds of Pitt County middle school students put their reading skills to the test during Friday's 15th Annual Battle of The Books competition. Moderators questioned the students about the 27 books they read during the school year. The game consisted of rounds of 12 questions with two schools facing off for points. E.B. Aycock Middle School walked away with the victory. Ayden Middle came in second place, followed by Farmville middle school. Aycock now advances to the regional competition held in April at Currituck Middle School.
