State Representative John Hall, from the Halifax County town of Scotland Neck, has died. Hall, a Democrat, was appointed to a vacant house seat in February 2000, then was elected to the office three times. He represented parts of Halifax and Nash Counties. The 48-year-old died in the intensive care unit at Halifax Regional Medical Center overnight. There is no word on a cause of death.
