Charges Pending In Fatal Carteret County Crash

A young woman is dead after a crash, and lawmen say the question now is what charges her boyfriend will face.

Hannah Smith, 21, of Swansboro was killed in a wreck Friday night in Cape Carteret, according to the Jacksonville Daily News, near Piners trailer park on Highway 58.

Court records show 21-year-old Joshuah Dodd is charged in Carteret County with failure to yield. However, authorities say Dodd could face more serious charges, including death by motor vehicle, according to the Jacksonville Daily News.

The report says Dodd crashed into another car, and Smith died at the hospital. We've learned her funeral is scheduled for Thursday night at Jones Funeral Home in Swansboro.
