Groundbreaking ceremonies were held Thursday for a new state of the art cancer care center at Beaufort County Hospital in Washington.
In eight months the $1,000,000 cancer center will be complete.
Doctor Jennie Crews, director of oncology at the hospital, says the new cancer center will be more than three times larger than the existing one. Crews adds the new facility will feature more exam rooms and a chemotherapy room with floor to ceiling windows that look out onto a garden.
