Problem With Buyout Signup

It's been years in the making and Monday, tobacco growers and quota owners finally have the opportunity to start to sign up for the tobacco quota buyout program. But in Craven County, like all other places you could go to sign up, it was a little more time consuming than expected. Cooperative Extension offices across the country have not yet received the software to fill out the paperwork for the program. Those who still wanted to sign up had to use paper forms. The new software is expected to reach offices by Wednesday. Growers and quota owners can sign up for the program through June 17. Payments are expected by September 30.
