Maintaining good health is a priority for many Eastern Carolinians.

At the Viquest Center in Greenville, people from the disabled community were thrown a health screening day for their specific needs. From vision and weight checks, to cholesterol and seat positioning screenings, the aim was to enhance the quality of life for disabled residents. According to one event organizer, the health fair sponsored by the Support Team for Active Recreation is not only a way for people with special needs to receive free care, but also to help them network with other folks with disabilities.

The health fair also included a free personal chef service session to help teach participants healthier ways to prepare everyday meals.
