Reading Fun Day a Hit

Reading is fundamental, and it also can be fun as dozens of people in Kinston proved Saturday.

The Fifth Annual Reading Fun Day sponsored by the Education Literacy Program Department of the Kinston Free Press, kicked off at 11 Saturday morning. Volunteer readers told stories while hundreds of children and their parents had their choice from more than 300 donated books. After dining on literary delights, children were also given balloon animals and were able to have their faces painted. The Easter Bunny was also on tap for reading fun day.
