The Randy Parton theater in the Halifax County town of Roanoke Rapids has a new name.
City officials agreed tonight to change the name of the theater to the "Roanoke Rapids Theater" after the city broke its ties with Randy Parton. The theater will now feature both nationally known acts from a variety of genres and will also offer a house show. So far, 40 nationally known acts have been booked between now and June. The existing marquee will be changed in the coming days with the full name change expected to evolve over several months.
