Strong winds whipped a four-alarm fire through Daddy Mac's Grill in just minutes in Surf City Wednesday. The fire marshal and other arson investigators spent Thursday afternoon trying to find out where and how that blaze started. Owners, workers, and the chef were all inside when the blaze began. They managed to escape without injury and are now helping with the investigation even as they worry about their own futures. Daddy Mac's had only opened for business last fall. Many are saying the loss of even one business on the beach could hurt this season's tourist economy.
