For centuries, people have called Hyde County home, so they could be close to the waters of the Pamlico Sound and the Atlantic. But a decade of storms is threatening to change life for mainland Hyde County neighbors, who are now moving "up" to stay out of floods. They are also building one big wall, 17 miles long, to try to protect Swan Quarter, the county seat. But moving to higher ground isn't an option for everyone.
