More Funding For Craven County Nurses At Health Department

By  |

The Craven County board of commissioners approved funding to pay for three additional nurses at the Craven County Health Department.

Right now there are three nurses to take care of more than 300 maternity patients. Health department director, Wanda Sandele, says hundreds of new patients are flooding into the clinic each day. The increase came after private practices stopped accepting Medicaid patients.

Sandele went before the board of commissioners Monday night and was granted and additional $40,000 in funding to hire more staff.
