Good news for U.S. Airways from the federal government. The government has agreed to extend a financial deal in which the air
transportation stabilization board will provide the funding necessary for the
bankrupt airline to stay in business. The current deal is set to expire Saturday.
A bankruptcy court judge must approve the new deal. It's especially good news for Eastern Carolina air travelers. That's because U.S. Airways is the primary carrier for the Pitt, Craven, and Onslow County airports.
