Residents Escape Burning Home

Two houses were engulfed in flames when firefighters in Washington arrived early Thursday morning. Firefighters say one house caught the other one on fire at the intersection of Charlotte and Fourth streets. One home was empty but the other one had between six to eight people inside. Thankfully, a Washington Police Officer was able to alert the residents in time and they all got out safely. The State Bureau of Investigation arson unit has been called in.
