The effort to bring new jobs and industry to Onslow County is now officially on the map.
The Burton Industrial Park is now a state certified industrial site. That means the 700 acre park near Jacksonville is ready for businesses before they'll build on a new site.
Onslow County has invested more than $2.5 million into improvements there, making Burton Park one of the largest potential plant sites east of Raleigh. This park is critical in making Onslow County more successful than it already is.
The county industry hunter says he's already had several hot prospects check into the park since the state certification placed it on a worldwide Web site.
