She makes barn calls by appointment. Laurie Woodley is a certified equine massage therapist. You heard that right, a masseuse for horses. Woodley gets the kinks out of show horses, pet horses and workhorses all over eastern Carolina. She's the founder of East Carolina Equine Massage and uses special massage techniques to relax muscles, increase circulation and relieve tension in all breeds of horses. Sports massage on horses began in the late 1980's with thoroughbred race horses.
