A tip from a Wilson resident helped put an escaped inmate back behind bars Tuesday.
The Wilson Sheriff's Department says 20-year old Travis Shonta Allen was being transported when he escaped from the corrections officer around 9 a.m. in the morning.
Around 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, a tip from a resident in an apartment complex near the detention center led to Allen's arrest.
