Officials say 44-year-old Janet Spann is dead, following a house fire Monday in Lenoir County.
Crews were called to the home on Edgewood Drive just outside the Kinston city limits a little before 1:30 Monday morning.
Ryan Dawson, the Sandy Bottom battalion Chief, says it's too early to determine what sparked the blaze, which primarily consumed the front part of the house.
