The Highway Patrol in Craven County says it responded to 51 vehicle accidents as a result of the snow and ice. And authorities say that does not include accidents where reports weren't filed, such as vehicles sliding into a ditch.
One trooper says Monday proved to be one of the worst for accidents in the county in several years. The Highway Patrol says out of those accidents 11 of them involved some type of personal injury.
