Tuesday's hearing at Camp Lejeune for a Marine charged with desertion ended after only about 15 minutes.
Corporal Wassef Ali Hassoun entered the courtroom with his two military lawyers. Once inside, the military investigating officer advised Hassoun of his legal rights.
A witness was scheduled to testify, but military defense attorneys objected because Hassoun doesn't yet have a civilian attorney, and the witness wasn't called.
The hearing was recessed until January 13.
