North Carolina's gas tax may have reached it's pinnacle on Thursday of just over 30 cents a gallon, but fuel prices continue to climb, including diesel.
This means bad news for truck drivers as they take their rigs to the roads. Diesel prices are averaging over $3.30 a gallon in parts of eastern Carolina. Some truckers say that when prices get this high, they may have to pay out of their own pockets.
Some of the lowest prices for diesel we saw were in Kinston at $3.21 a gallon.
