A Federal Reserve economist says the economic picture for eastern Carolina looks bright.
Greenville and Pitt county leaders heard from Federal Reserve economist Martin Kleckley during a meeting Thursday. Kleckley says there's strong progress in the health and manufacturing sectors, especially in Pitt County. And though the housing market across the country is bleak, it's not always the same case in every community.
The ranking of economic progress depends on the ability to create jobs and keep the labor force employed, all of which they say are strong here in eastern Carolina.
