Having cable t-v is a service many have come to expect, but that luxury could soon come to an end in one county. That's because the Hyde County Board of Commissioners refuses to renew the county's contract with Belhaven Cable until some serious improvements are made. At Monday night's board meeting, representatives with Belhaven Cable presented a service renewal contract. But the commissioners voted not to accept it, citing broken promises to upgrade, poor service and cable coverage as some of the main reasons. We went to Belhaven Cable and spoke with the owner of the cable company. He declined to comment on any aspect of the matter on or off camera, stating, "We don't negotiate through the media."
