Rape Suspect Nabbed In Next County Minutes After First Call

Pitt County Sheriff Mac Manning credits police cooperation for helping solve the rape, kidnapping and robbery of a woman early New Years morning.

Washington police arrested Montrelle Williams within minutes of deputies getting the first report of a rape on Spring Brook Drive in Pitt County.

Deputies say the suspect was driving the victim’s Nissan Pathfinder. As Washington police stopped the vehicle for speeding, deputies broadcast an alert that the car’s driver was wanted for the rape in Pitt County.

The 19 year old Williams is charged with first degree rape, first degree sexual offense, kidnapping and common law robbery.

He’s in the Pitt County jail under a $2 million bond.
