UPDATE: Worker Injured In PCS Phosphate Fire

Multiple agencies responded to a fire at PCS Phosphate Tuesday night. PCS Phosphate tells WITN that the fire broke out around 10:00 in the Mill area of the property in Aurora.

Officials at the plant say the fire was put out around 11:20 p.m.

Public affairs manager Michelle Vaught says one Potash responder received minor injuries. He was treated on site.

Vaught says the cause of the fire is unknown at this time and an investigation is underway. The extent of damage has not yet been determined.

Blounts Creek, Aurora, and Chocowinity fire departments responded, along with the Beaufort County Fire Marshal.

Several Fire departments have responded to a fire at Potash Corp in Aurora.

Beaufort County Emergency Management confirmed they are assisting PCS Phosphate, the phosphate mining facility, with a structure fire.
