Money Will Make Its Way to Eastern Carolina

The budget crunch is certainly impacting the State Department of Transportation, but Eastern Carolina should stay at the top of the priority list. Plans indicate an expected reduction in overall transportation contracts will primarily affect other parts of the state, as highway money is actually shifted to Eastern Carolina projects. That's because in recent years, nearly 150 million dollars meant for work here has been used in other places. In January, officials announced the money would come back to the east over the next seven years.
