Greenville residents who lost power due to an underground electrical fire last night had their power restored before ten, but crews will still have repairs to finish this morning.
Officials say the force from an underground electrical fire was so strong, it not only blew off a manhole cover, it broke it in half.
Right before eight o'clock last night firefighters responded to Fourth and Washington Streets and quickly put out the flames.
Captain Milton Carney with the Greenville Fire Department says it appears that a short in an under ground cable was the cause of the fire.
