On the day after Christmas, some people were back in the stores doing some more shopping. Others were doing their shopping on the steps of the Pitt County courthouse in Greenville.
The courthouse is where a foreclosure sale took place for the Brook Valley Country Club. Those conducting the sale say the club borrowed money years ago and is now past due. Country Club Properties had the high bid at 2.8 million dollars.
The auction now stays open for ten days and the bid can be overtaken for an additional $130,000.
