Charlotte Area Is Just One Of Three Places Where Home Prices Are Up

By  |

There are only three places in the country where homes prices are rising -- and Charlotte is at the top of that very short list.

A national survey released Wednesday found that home prices in the Charlotte metropolitan area rose by 4.3 percent compared with the same month last year.

That bucks the national trend, in which home prices posted their biggest monthly decline since early 1991 and fell for the 10th
consecutive month.

The Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller index found that home values
increased only in Charlotte, Seattle and Portland, Ore.
