Edwards Second To Romney In Candidates Personal Wealth

In the race for president, former North Carolina Senator John Edwards has a bank account that's second only to Mitt Romney.

That's according to Money magazine, which has estimated Edwards worth at $54.7 million. Most of the money comes from Edwards days as a medical malpractice and personal-injury attorney, but it also includes his investments with Fortress Investment Group and North Carolina county bonds.

Romney is the richest candidate. The former Republican governor of Massachusetts and head of Bain Capital has a worth estimated at between $92 million and $276 million.
