Free Smoke Detectors for Senior Citizens

The city of Kinston and Lenoir County will be giving out free smoke detector's to senior citizens. A grant is paying for the 150 long life smoke detectors that have a built in battery designed to last 10 years. Department of Public Safety spokesperson Woody Spencer says before getting one, seniors must first complete a survey. Call 252-559-6126 for more information. The smoke detectors are available on a first come, first serve basis.
