Southwest Free Flights For More Than 170 Texas Troops

Some Texas troops in North Carolina whose deployment to Afghanistan has been delayed will get free flights home for the holidays.

Southwest Airlines says it will fly more than 170 Texas Army National Guard soldiers from Fort Bragg. The soldiers are scheduled to arrive in Dallas, Austin and San Antonio on Sunday.

They're members of the 436th Chemical Company. Relatives of the troops had been trying to raise money so their loved ones could fly home.

They hadn't raised enough when Southwest stepped in.
