North Carolina's unemployment rate dropped for the second consecutive month to 4.7 percent in November.
Statistics released Friday by the state Employment Security Commission said the labor force increased in November by 3,081.
Commission Chairman Harry Payne Junior said the numbers were extremely positive. The unemployment rate hasn't been as low as 4.7 percent since March, when it was at 4.5 percent. The unemployment rate was 4.9 percent in November of 2006 and 4.8 percent this October.
The national unemployment rate is also 4.7 percent.
