"High Expectations"

A native of Edgecombe County returned to stir the souls of some area high school students. Marvin Pittman from the State Department of Public Instruction spoke at Southwest Edgecombe High school Wednesday as part of a Black History month presentation called "High Expectations." Pittman graduated from the former G.W. Carver High school in Pinetops. Pittman says Black History month is an appropriate time for everyone to learn more about the African American culture.
