Fort Bragg To Get More Soldiers

Fort Bragg is planning to receive more soldiers and boost its military population to more than 56,000.

Spokesman Tom McCollum says the post is expected to get about 1,400 additional soldiers by fiscal year 2013. He says Fort Bragg still will be the largest Army post in the world.

The additional personnel are part of a plan to add more than 74,000 soldiers to the Army in addition to growth Fort Bragg will see from base realignment.

McCollum says the additional forces will be in emergency ordnance disposal, chemical, finance and quartermaster units.
